Living Well is not a church. Rather, it is an interdenominational, Christian, non-profit ministry devoted to soul-care through both wellness and recovery programs. Our Purpose is to serve the body of Christ by helping to strengthen individuals, couples, families, churches and communities by teaching people to apply Biblical principles to everyday circumstances. Then, they can achieve peaceful, purposeful, productive lives. Many who come seeking answers to difficult life situations, leave as true servant leaders in their church and community. Launched in 1994, the ministry is now in its second decade, with gratitude, because God is changing hundreds of lives through this process.
Living Well began in 1994 with one small group and six participants. Today, the organization serves an average of 100 people each year in Glynn County and its surrounding counties. The organization operates under a Board of Directors, and holds a 501 (c)(3) status.
For the last 26 years, Living Well has served individuals who are interested in participating in a 28-week process-driven, small group where participants are committed to each other's well-being and recovery from emotional pain.
Each group meets once a week for a two hour session which is both an educational and interactive process. It is directive and cumulative, focusing on a step-by-step journey from brokenness toward restoration and the ability to live well, free from emotional pain.
Groups are led by facilitators who have completed three years of active participation in the Living Well Program for their own healing from emotional pain. They participate in a training program that includes both a 28-week apprenticeship and a 28 week internship. Each facilitator is also required to complete the Biblical Counseling Certification process through the American Association of Christian Counselors which includes 90 credit hours of classroom training, and they must participate weekly in continuing education and training meetings.
